Shameel Farishta

Shameel is a courageous warrior who faced the daunting diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 7. Reality hit hard when doctors revealed that 95% of Shameel's little body was occupied by cancerous cells. The confirmation of leukemia brought immense heartbreak and fear.

The initial chemotherapy treatments proved challenging, but in March 2021, a doctor from St. Jude suggested targeted chemotherapy drugs, marking a turning point in Shameel's treatment.

The journey has been filled with surgeries, procedures, and ongoing chemotherapy. Despite the ups and downs, Shameel, a prankster and fighter, has demonstrated resilience, courage, and bravery. His attachment to his dog, Fluffy, provides comfort, distraction, and support during the draining side effects of chemotherapy.

Shameel is ready to rock the runway to show the world and other kids that he is fighting and they can too. If you would like to join us in celebrating Shameel at the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala, click HERE for more information.
